Terms of Use

Agreement

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and GK Enterprise LLC, which does business as Crewhand ("we", "us"). They cover the SkyCheck apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Android and Wear OS, the skycheck.app website and the services behind them (together, "SkyCheck"). By ticking the box and tapping Agree and continue, or by using SkyCheck, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy, including the usage analytics, ad measurement and product emails it describes, which you can turn off in Settings at any time. If you don't agree, don't use SkyCheck.

Effective October 8, 2026.

Who can use SkyCheck

You must be at least 13 years old to use SkyCheck. If you're under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms for you and is responsible for how you use SkyCheck, including any purchase. Members under 18 may buy, sell or meet other members only with a parent or guardian's permission, and should bring them to any meetup. You can't use SkyCheck if we've banned you, or if U.S. law doesn't allow us to provide it to you.

Information only, not approval to fly

SkyCheck shows weather forecasts, space-weather and satellite estimates, airspace information and limits based on published drone specifications. It is for general information and planning only. It is not an official aviation weather briefing, not an FAA product, and not an authorization to fly anywhere. Verdicts such as "Within your limits" only compare forecast data with the limits you chose; they are not a statement that a flight is safe or legal.

You are the pilot in command

You alone are responsible for deciding whether and how to fly, for the safe operation of your aircraft, and for following all laws and regulations, including 14 CFR Part 107 or the recreational-flyer rules (49 U.S.C. 44809), airspace authorizations, temporary flight restrictions, and local rules. Always check official sources, such as FAA B4UFLY, LAANC or FAADroneZone, NOTAMs and TFRs, and aviation weather, and look at the actual conditions where you are before and during every flight.

Alerts can be late or missed

Weather, lightning, TFR and NOTAM, flying-window, twilight and LAANC alerts are a convenience. They depend on third-party data, our servers, your device's settings and battery management, your network, and Apple's and Google's notification services, any of which can delay an alert, drop it or get it wrong. Satellite lightning data can miss strikes or arrive minutes late. Never rely on getting an alert, or on not getting one, to decide that it's safe to fly or to keep flying.

Third-party data may be wrong

Weather, Kp index, satellite, airspace, building and map data come from third parties, including Open-Meteo, NOAA, the Iowa Environmental Mesonet, CelesTrak, the FAA, OpenStreetMap contributors, Apple and Google. This data can be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed or unavailable, and forecasts can change quickly. Airspace shown in SkyCheck, including temporary flight restrictions, may be incomplete or out of date, and new restrictions can be issued at short notice. Drone specifications come from manufacturers' and sellers' published material and may be wrong or out of date.

LAANC requests

SkyCheck can send LAANC authorization requests to an FAA-approved LAANC service supplier (currently Airspace Link). The supplier and the FAA decide whether to approve a request, and an approval can be cancelled or changed. You enter your pilot details on the supplier's own page, and its terms and privacy policy apply there. Check that you have an approved authorization, and follow its altitude, area, time and other conditions, before you fly.

Your account

You need an account to use SkyCheck. You can sign in with the options shown in the app, such as Sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure and don't share your account; you're responsible for activity on it. Tell us at support@skycheck.app if you think someone else has used it. You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Account, or as explained at skycheck.app/support.

Emails from us

We send emails about your account, such as sign-in links, security notices and changes to these Terms; you can't turn those off while you have an account. We also send product news, tips and offers about SkyCheck. You can unsubscribe from those at any time with the link in any of them or in Settings › Privacy, and we'll stop within 10 business days.

SkyCheck Pro subscription

Some features need a SkyCheck Pro subscription. You buy it through Apple's App Store or Google Play at the price shown in the app before you confirm (currently $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year in the US, plus any tax). The store charges you, not us, and the store's terms apply to the payment.

Marketplace

The SkyCheck marketplace lets members list drones, parts and accessories and message each other. Sales are between the buyer and the seller only. We aren't a party to them, don't handle payment, and don't inspect, verify or guarantee any item, listing, member or sale, including whether an item is as described, works, is legally owned or is safe to fly. You're responsible for your listings, messages and meetups, for complying with the law (including FAA registration, export and consumer rules) and for any taxes. Meet in a public place. Only list items you own and may legally sell. Don't list stolen, counterfeit or recalled items, weapons or payloads designed to drop or spray hazardous substances, services, or anything illegal. Don't post offensive, abusive, misleading or spam content, share other people's personal information, or ask members to move payment off the app in a way meant to defraud them. We may filter, remove or hide listings and messages, and suspend accounts, that break these rules. You can report listings, members and messages from the app, and we aim to review reports within 24 hours. Selling requires SkyCheck Pro; browsing and messaging don't. If your Pro subscription ends, your listings are hidden from other members until you subscribe again. If you or the other member deletes their account, your conversation with them is deleted too.

Community

The SkyCheck community lets members post, comment and vote in topic boards and organize group flights. You're responsible for what you post. Don't post anything illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, violent or misleading; don't share other people's personal information or photos of people without their consent; don't encourage unsafe or unlawful flying, such as flying in restricted airspace or over crowds; and don't spam or advertise (selling belongs in the Marketplace). Other members' posts are their own opinions and aren't checked by us; don't rely on them for flight safety or legal advice. We may filter, hide or remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules. You can report posts, comments and members, and block members, from the app, and we aim to review reports within 24 hours.

Your content

You keep ownership of the posts, comments, photos, listings and messages you add to SkyCheck ("your content"). You give GK Enterprise LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, copy, show and distribute your content, only to run SkyCheck and show it to the members you share it with. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept as described in the Privacy Policy (for example, reported content kept for moderation, and backups). You confirm you have the right to post your content and that it doesn't break these Terms or anyone else's rights. We don't use your content to train AI models.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse SkyCheck. For example, don't: break the law or help anyone else break it; access SkyCheck with bots, scrapers or other automated means, or collect other members' information; get around Pro, rate limits or security; copy, resell or redistribute SkyCheck's data or features; interfere with or overload our servers; reverse engineer the apps except where the law allows it; impersonate anyone; or create accounts to get around a ban.

If you believe content on SkyCheck infringes your copyright, email support@skycheck.app with: your contact details; the work you say is infringed; where the content is in SkyCheck (a screenshot or description helps); a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you're the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We'll remove infringing content, and we close the accounts of repeat infringers. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send us a counter-notice.

Trademarks

Drone names and brands are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify the aircraft. SkyCheck isn't affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any drone manufacturer. Specs come from published sources, may be out of date, and can differ from your aircraft.

Third-party services

SkyCheck works with services run by other companies, such as Apple, Google, Airspace Link and the data providers listed in Data Sources & Credits. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we aren't responsible for their services.

Suspension and ending your access

You can stop using SkyCheck and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access, remove your content, or close your account if you break these Terms, if we need to protect other members or the public, or if the law requires it. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why. If we close your account for breaking these Terms, store purchases aren't refunded by us. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as Your content, No warranty, Limitation of liability, Indemnity and Disputes) continue after your access ends.

Changes to SkyCheck and these Terms

We may change, add or remove features of SkyCheck. We may update these Terms; if we make material changes, we'll ask you to accept the new Terms in the app before you continue, and the effective date at the top will change. If you don't agree to new Terms, stop using SkyCheck, delete your account and cancel any subscription in your store.

No warranty

SkyCheck and all information in it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise that SkyCheck will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that data will be accurate, or that alerts will be delivered.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, GK Enterprise LLC and its owners, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of or damage to aircraft, property, data or income, arising from your use of or reliance on SkyCheck, even if we were told such damage was possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to SkyCheck is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for SkyCheck Pro in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim, or (b) US $50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct. Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.

Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and indemnify GK Enterprise LLC against claims, damages and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your flights, your content, your marketplace dealings and meetups, your breach of these Terms, or your breaking the law.

Disputes and governing law

If you have a problem with SkyCheck, email support@skycheck.app first so we can try to resolve it; please give us 30 days before starting a formal claim. These Terms are governed by the laws of Mississippi, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any claim that isn't resolved informally must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Lauderdale County, Mississippi, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

Apple App Store terms

If you got SkyCheck from Apple's App Store: these Terms are between you and GK Enterprise LLC only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims; we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating and handling any claim that the app infringes someone's intellectual property. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. embargo and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, except where these Terms say otherwise.

Google Play

If you got SkyCheck from Google Play: Google Play's terms also apply to your use of Google Play. These Terms are between you and GK Enterprise LLC only, not Google, and Google isn't responsible for SkyCheck or its content.

General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about SkyCheck. If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a part right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else; we may transfer them to a company that takes over SkyCheck. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. We may send you notices in the app or to your account's email address.
